What People are Saying…

Before working with Dr. Toya, I felt lost and overwhelmed, struggling to balance my career as a physician with the demands of motherhood.

Now, after completing her coaching program, I feel empowered and equipped to tackle what lies ahead. Dr. Toya has helped me develop clear goals, create a solid plan, and acquire the tools necessary to navigate this challenging phase of life.

One of the most significant changes I've noticed is a reduction in my anxiety and fear about the future. Dr. Toya's supportive yet no-nonsense approach kept me accountable, which was exactly what I needed. I particularly appreciated her curiosity and attention to detail as she delved into my routines, support systems, values, goals, and fears. This thorough understanding allowed her to provide suggestions tailored specifically to my situation.

Dr. Toya's coaching challenged my preconceptions and introduced me to new perspectives I hadn't encountered before. Her wealth of knowledge, combined with her accessibility and responsiveness, made her an invaluable resource. She provided clarity during the fog of motherhood while prioritizing my goals and lifestyle.

To any physician mom in the early years of motherhood, I would say this: Dr. Toya is the real deal. If you're feeling overwhelmed or lost, don't hesitate to work with Dr. Toya. You won't be disappointed.

Private Coaching

I started coaching with an eight year old and a six month old, because I felt overwhelmed and isolated. I didn’t realize my experience is typical for a lot of women and there isn’t anything wrong with me.

As a result of coaching with Dr. Toya, my journey in motherhood is much more intentional, and I have learned what I need to do for my own wellbeing. I have learned the importance of self-care and no longer feel guilty asking for help–more significantly, I now accept it when offered. I am more optimistic and feel seen in my motherhood journey–something I didn’t know I needed but has proven to be important and affirming.

Coaching with Dr. Toya is wonderful, though that’s an understatement because of how positively impactful it has been. It was easy to get comfortable with her and every session has been transformational. I have gained new perspectives and explored topics I can’t discuss with anyone else (about parenting, my body, my marriage, and my career). In every session I felt safe and supported.

Coaching with Dr. Toya has been an anchor to my sanity during this intense time. It’s been fun, necessary, and improved my sense of worthiness as a mom and a woman. I hadn't realized how much I needed this experience, nor did I imagine such support was available until I became a client of Dr Toya’s. My gratitude is immense, as coaching has been a pivotal part of my growth and self-discovery during this time of my life.

When I started coaching with Dr. Toya, my daughter was just 15 months old, and I felt completely overwhelmed. I had lost myself in motherhood, and everything revolved around my child. I wasn't taking care of myself, which led to noticeable changes in my physical and mental health. My weight was dropping, I experienced random aches and pains, and I even had stomach pains that felt like ulcers – all manifestations of stress.

My relationship with my husband was strained. I felt resentful and angry, even jealous of his ability to leave the house easily while I struggled with the demands of breastfeeding and childcare. Work was equally chaotic – I was behind on charts, always on Epic at home, and constantly wanting to run away from my job.

Working with Dr. Toya has been transformative. I've learned the importance of self-care and how it enables me to be the best version of myself for my child, family, and patients. It was a significant mindset shift to realize that quality time with my child is more valuable than quantity, especially when I'm exhausted and burnt out.

Dr. Toya helped me let go of guilt and accept help from others, even if things aren't done exactly as I would do them. The coaching experience has been freeing – I no longer feel guilty for taking care of myself. It's incredibly valuable to have someone who understands the unique challenges of being a physician mom without judgment.

Thanks to Dr. Toya's guidance, I'm now prioritizing both my physical and mental health. I've seen my PCP, had my annual check-up, gotten my labs done, and I'm seeing my chiropractor again. I take time every day for stretches and mindfulness. Most importantly, I've established clear boundaries between work and home life.

The changes have been remarkable. I'm hardly doing any Epic work at home now – when I'm home, I'm fully present. Dr. Toya's coaching has helped me find balance, rediscover myself, and become a better mother, wife, and physician. I'm grateful for this journey and the positive impact it's had on every aspect of my life.

I felt lost before coaching, and this lost feeling persisted even after I made a huge career change that was supposed to give me "work life balance". Now, after just 12 weeks of coaching I feel like a new version of myself. I've been able to advocate for changes at work that directly benefit me, set boundaries and improve communication with coworkers (I'm a very non confrontational individual and Dr. Toya has helped me communicate in a clear direct way that feels authentic and meaningful).

I'm a better partner, mom, and physician because I'm a better, happier, and more centered version of myself. I've taken up hobbies like sewing for fun, thrifting, and cooking again, which I previously put off as they felt frivolous as a physician mom, but Dr. Toya reminded me that doing these things that bring me joy are actually making me the best version of myself and that's so incredibly empowering. Dr. Toya just gets it. She's been there, she IS there, and that's something that truly cannot be emphasized enough.

I said yes to ✨The Connected Motherhood Experience👩🏾‍⚕️✨ because I was tired, burned out, overwhelmed, and exhausted from trying to do it all. I knew there had to be a way to honor my values, rest, and be a successful wife, mom, and physician. This experience laid the foundation for the deep internal work I desperately needed.

What I realized is that change starts with me. Learning to prioritize myself transformed how I see everything, my career, my family, my identity. The positive mindset shift was revolutionary.

I now carry the power of choice, the permission to rest, and the courage to face what scares me and do it anyway.

To any Black physician mom who’s unsure or skeptical about coaching, I was too. But saying yes to this group was one of the best decisions of my life. I gained a new perspective, a sisterhood, and tools that will serve me for years to come. The value of CME is immeasurable. Take the leap. You will not be disappointed.”
